Acronis Disk Director Suite 10.0

I chose this partition software based on Amazon's and others reviews. It includes a thorough and easy to comprehend guide, simple and easy to use wizards, and optional choices for advanced users. Within just a few minutes of installation I had succesfully transfered 5 gig of free drive space from my D to my C drive, with no problems or loss of data. Money well-spent

I found that Disk Director Suite worked for expanding the partition on my C: drive without any problems. The interface is all menu driven and very simple to use. I did not try to use the software for anything else and cannot comment on the complaints reported by others on this site. If you only want to expand partitions, as I did, the software worked great and was priced lower than the competitive products.

I bought this after several failed attempts to duplicate my boot partition for backup purposes useing Symantec Partition Magic 8. This product not only did the job quickly, but easier than PM8, and it supports UBS/Firewire drives when using the bootable disk (which PM8 does not).

You can create bootable disks from the downloadable version of this software, and it has a full graphical interface which is easy to use, and worked flawlessly for my needs. Highly recommended.

Watch out! My experience with this product was filled with issues after attempting to repartition my hard drive. Acronis support tried to assist me without success.

doesn't support dynamic drives which is on my Vista pc, you don't know this until you load it and then the disclaimers start appearing.

I have never written a product review in my life, but my experience was so bad I needed to stop some other poor fool from buying this stuff. Before spending money on this product, go to their (Acronis) website and search "invalid partition size" on their forums. I fought this stuff for 6 hours, then realized that the product has a bug that they can't fix. They have a build they will ask you to try when the product doesn't work, and drivers when that doesn't work, but it is clear they have not solved it. As background, I was simply trying to partition a 1 terabyte drive on a brand new machine. It does not get any easier than that. So anyway, I tried to use their "support". Created a case, got a mail from them right away, replied to the mail, only to have their site reject my mail reply as undeliverable!! The happy ending: Amazon (my new best buddy) took the product back, and I was able to find some really great Freeware (By Easeus) that did the job in 10 minutes. So bottom line, Acronis has a bad product, a bad service process, and while you might get lucky, why would you take the chance. Please, again, do not take my word for it. Go to their site and read the forums. They are full of people with questions that their "support" people are clueless about, and lots of folks had their e-mails bounced. Good Luck!!
